Hi Everyone!

I hope you and your family had a wonderful vacation.  I think many of you went on Ski Camp.  This must have been perfect because there was so much snow this winter.

Let’s make a big effort for the next two weeks.  Homework will continue the same as last semester.  So, please check the homework page one more time.

Tomorrow we will start doing Geometry.  To do this, you must bring a picture of your favourite cartoon character(s) to school.  Maybe bring two, just in case your friend forgets!

What’s on this week?

Monday: Story writing

Tuesday: Story Writing and Geometric Mathematics

Wednesday: Vocabulary Games and Story Writing

Thursday: Geometric Mathematics and Story Writing

Friday: Geometric Mathematics and Story Writing

Leave a comment:

Today we started writing a personal narrative.

  • What must you remember when writing a narrative?
  • What are the different steps in the writing process?
  • What writing techniques can you use to make your story more interesting?

Read other people’s answers befor adding your own answer.

Well, Let’s have a great week.

Peace

Weekly News: December 14-18

Welcome to the last week of school before vacation!

Let’s put in a huge effort to end the semester in a positive way!  It has been wonderful to see so many learners doing homework recently!  Just make sure that you do the work to a high standard.

PARENTS:  Because this is the last week of school, learners will not need to do vocabulary homework.  Instead, they must study for the Body Systems test.  The test is on Thursday.  Learners will still need to do all other homework!

What’s on this week?

Monday:  Vocabulary Test, Maniac Magee, Library

Tuesday: Body Systems: Muscular and Skeletal Systems.

Wednesday: Maniac Magee, 3D Shapes

Thursday: Body Systems Assessment

Friday: 3D Shapes…

Christmas Party

We will have a Christmas party next Friday 18th December in 5-2 English class. Please bring:

  • A gift that costs between 5,000won and 10,000won to play the Christmas Santa Game that I explained in class. Wrap the gift and put your name on it. Bring it to school and we will put it under our Christmas Tree. (no gift=no play)
  • Some decorations for our class Christmas Tree.
  • A snack for the Christmas party. I will buy plates and spoons, just in case we have a cake.

Comment

For Thursday’s Body Systems assessment you must:

  • choose one of the body systems that we have studied:

The repiratory and circulatory systems
The digestive system
The nervous system
The skeletal and muscular systems

On Thursday you will have an ‘open notebook’ test.  This means you can bring your notebook of notes about your chosen body system to the test.  YOU CAN’T BRING THE HARCOURTS BOOK TO THE TEST.

Leave a comment:  Which body system will you study?  What do you know about that body system already?

That’s all for now.

Have a great week!

Mr.C
